If you are following my blog, my last post was about a company called Norwex and why I choose to use their products, which are both safe for your health and the planet, instead of harsh chemicals to clean my house.  There are so many Norwex cleaning products that I wanted to talk about that I had to break it into two posts. If you did not read the previous post, I suggest reading it first.

Mold and mildew stain remover

I use the mold and mildew remover in the shower, tub or any other place mold and mildew can grow.  If there are any signs of mold or mildew, I usually open any windows in the room, spray down the area, let it sit for 10 minutes or longer if needed, then rinse.  Mold and mildew stains should disappear on their own, if not, I scrub it down with my Norwex bathroom scrub mitt (or the envirosponge).

Norwex's USDA Biobased Certified stain-fighter removes all traces of mold and mildew stains from a variety of indoor and outdoor surfaces. It is highly effective on tile, sealed grout, porcelain, natural stone, laminate, glass, plastic, stainless steel, wood and concrete. Best of all, it's free from harmful chemicals like chlorine, bleach and peroxide!

Norwex Cleaning Products: Descaler

The Descaler is a great way to eliminate soap scup, heavy calcium, lime and rust deposits from shower doors, bathtubs, taps, drains and more.  It leaves them sparkling and residue-free in minutes and assists in the prevention of future build up with regular use.  Most descalers contain large quantities of toxic surfactants and dangerous chemical acids that can burn surfaces and damage the environment.

Norwex's Descaler is USDA certified 86% biobased content from plants and other renewable sources.  It contains Natural Glucuronic Acid to remove mineral deposits, dirt and soil.  Orange Peel Extract and Sodium Gluconate help enhance the cleaning ability of the product.  It works on a variety of surfaces, including porcelain, ceramic tile, fiberglass, glass, stainless steel, aluminum, vinyl and plastic.

  • Spray Descaler on the surface.
  • Wait let it work for five to ten minutes and let it work.
  • Wipe off with a moist EnviroCloth® or EnviroScrub before the surface dries.
  • For heavier stains, repeat the process.
  • Always test on an inconspicuous place before using.
  • Do not use on natural stone, such as granite, marble or terrazzo; painted surfaces; metallic glazed surfaces; cast iron; copper or unsealed grouted areas as the natural acids may damage the surface.
  • Not for use in any cookware other than coffeepots.
  • Bathroom Scrub Mitt

Norwex's heavy-duty Bathroom Scrub Mitt removes stubborn dirt and grime on tiles, sinks, tubs, showers and more—without harsh chemicals.  I love using this mitt.  I just slide it on my hand, and rub down the bathtub.  It also works great in the shower, the scrubby side really gets into the grout and gets any dirt and stains out.  It works great with Norwex's Mold and Mildew Stain Remover or cleaning paste to get any tough stains or soap scum out.

  • Safely removes dirt and grime, including soap scum and hard water deposits
  • Gets tubs, shower stalls, countertops and toilets sparkling clean
  • Unique design provides one side for scrubbing and one side for wiping.
  • Norwex Microfiber has the ability
  • to remove up to 99% of bacteria from a surface with only water when following the proper care and use instructions
  • Thick, plush microfiber quickly wipes surface areas clean, drawing particles of dirt and grime up into the cloth rather than spreading them around on the surface, like with traditional sponges; surfaces stay cleaner, longer, so you won’t have to clean as often.
  • Scrubbing mesh tackles stubborn soap scum buildup without scratching.
  • BacLock®*, the micro silver agent in the cloth, goes to work with self-purification properties against mold, fungi and bacterial odor within 24 hours so that it is ready to use again.
  • Saves money by eliminating expensive cleaning products
  • Can be used alone or with other Norwex products, such as Cleaning Paste, Descaler, Mold and Mildew Stain Remover and Blue Diamond All-in-One Bathroom Cleaner
  • Helps protect the environment by eliminating the need for harsh chemicals
  • envirosponge

     Envirosponge

The Envirosponge is dual sided (one side is for scrubbing and the other side is soft and absorbent Norwex microfiber) and comes in a pack of two.  It works great in your bathroom for scrubbing away soap scum, mold and mildew stains, and hard water deposits.  It also works in the kitchen to remove burnt-on spills from pots and pans; dried-on residue from plates and dishware; sticky spills from refrigerator shelves—and more.  It is very absorbent, so it is perfect for cleaning up spills. Eliminates residual “chemical muck” left behind by typical cotton cloths and harsh cleaning products.  The soft EnviroCloth microfiber side also has the ability to remove up to 99% of bacteria from a surface when following the proper care and use instructions.

      Micro Cleaning Hand Pads

The Micro Cleaning Hand Pads are pretty similar to the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, minus the harsh chemicals.  By the way, the Mr. Clean Magic eraser is rated an F on the EWG website.

I have 3 kids 8 and under so there have been many times I have used these to get marks off the walls, and even got pen marks out of a white leather bench.

These disposable pads remove stains such as crayon, scuff marks, soap scum, ground-in dirt and much more.

    Envirowand

I love the Envirowand.  I use it to clean my door frames, the top of kitchen cabinets, and under the refrigerator.  You can also attach it to the Telescopic Mop Handle to reach high windowsills, ceilings, ceiling fans and picture frames.  When you are done cleaning, take the sleeve off and throw it in the wash.

    • When using on easily scratched surfaces such as brushed stainless steel, first test Norwex Microfiber on an inconspicuous spot. Not for use on anti-glare surfaces.

    Microfiber Care

    • Do not use bleach, fabric softeners or dryer sheets when laundering microfiber; they coat the fibers and reduce their ability to clean effectively.
    • Launder microfiber separately or with other lint-free laundry. Dry completely.
    • Rinse slightly dirty microfiber under warm, running water and hang to dry or drop in the dryer.
    • For best results, use a laundry detergent that is free from fillers, like Norwex laundry detergents.
    • For an even deeper clean, use Microfiber Cleaner Laundry Booster.

    Norwex Entry Mat

Think about all the places you walk in a day or a week (although most people are spending more and more time at home right now).  On a normal week, people may be walking around a grocery store or mall, use a public bathroom, walk through grass or a yard that has been treated with lawn chemicals.  The list of places you go where you can pick up harmful chemicals, germs, viruses, and bacteria are endless.

I love the Norwex Entry Mat, our family does not wear our shoes in the house, however if we have a party or people over (again not currently- but on normal circumstances) not everyone takes their shoes off at the door.  This is when the Norwex Entry Mat comes in handy, and we have one at every entry door.  This is especially important if you have young kids that play on the floor.

The Entry Mat features alternating bands of super-thirsty microfiber and stiff polypropylene bristles to help trap dirt and other pollutants in the mat instead of tracking them into your home.  In fact it traps the dirt in so well that it is difficult to clean.  It doesn't come completely clean by vacuuming.  The only way I can get it really clean is by brushing it with the Norwex Rubber Brush in between laundering.

Today, indoor air pollution is one of the top five environmental health problems in America, with chemical levels up to 70 times higher indoors than out. In addition, dust and dirt can wear away at your home’s floors and carpets.

    Benefits

    • Keeps dirt, chemicals, allergens and even water from entering your home by trapping them inside the mat
    • Extends the life of floors and carpets by preventing damage caused by indoor pollution
    • Industrial strength to easily withstand the heaviest foot traffic
    • Five rows of super-absorbent Norwex Microfiber and four rows of stiff, polypropylene bristles
    • Tone-on-tone hues help hide dirt and grime.
    • Non-slip rubber backing holds mat firmly in place.
    • Sized to fit most homes’ entrances and exits
    • Available in two colors—brown or graphite—to complement any décor.

    Use and Care

  • For heavy cleaning, launder using a Norwex laundry detergent, which contains no fillers.
  • Do not use bleach, fabric softeners or dryer sheets.
  • Rinse thoroughly after washing and air dry.
